“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” ~ Mother Teresa
Moms, this Valentine’s Day we have the opportunity to teach our daughters (and our sons!) how to do a small thing with great love. I believe there is nothing greater we can teach our children than to be empathic with those who are hurting and to become love in action.
We are each created uniquely – like a snowflake, and we are all called to love others. Mother Teresa encourages us to "bloom where we are planted" to love others where we are – at school, at home, at work or at play.
Before you begin making your Snowflake Valentine, talk about where each person spends their time. Is it soccer or babysitting or school? Then think about who you know that would be greatly encouraged by receiving your Snowflake Valentine Box.
Now, turn your kitchen into a love factory! Buy, cook or create goodies for your box.
Next, fill a small box with all your goodies.
Wrap the box in a fun Valentine color.
Cut two hearts out together; one in a colored paper and one in white paper. Fold the white valentine in half long-ways and then fold long-ways again two or 3 more times. Cut different shapes along the edges. When you open it up, you will have a heart shaped snowflake!
Use the heart to decorate your box along with any of your other decorating supplies such as: stickers, ribbon, rhinestones etc.
When you are finished deliver the box and give them an encouraging word!
I’d love to hear your stories and see your pictures! Send them to email@example.com, and I’ll share your pictures and story to encourage others to “do small things with great love!”
Happy Valentine’s Day!
