This is my beloved dog, Millie. I lovingly referred to her as my “third furry child.” Sweet Millie is no longer with us. However, if the Disney movie “All Dogs Go to Heaven” is true, Millie is there waiting for me at the pearly gates.
She was, in my opinion, a true beauty. Just look at her!
People had strong opinions about her external “beauty.” Some people would stop me on the road when I was walking her and say, “That is the coolest dog I’ve ever seen! I love your dog.” Still others, like my friend Kathy, would say emphatically, “That is the UGLIEST dog in the world!”
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is true . . . at least when it comes to external beauty. But TRUE BEAUTY is in the heart of a person. True beauty shines through no matter the external appearance. And because of that, no matter our outward appearance, we all have the opportunity to be ravishing beauties!
“. . . man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart .” 1 Samuel 16:7
